Germination instructions for Red Lady F1 Papaya

Red Lady is an impressive tropical dwarf papaya.

Our commercial F1 seeds have a very high germination rate (near 100% in our tests). Simply soak in warm water for 24 hours, then plant in a soaked jiffy pellet or peat-based pot, and leave them in a warm place.

Germination usually happens, given the right conditions, in around 1 week.

We recommend jiffy pellets or peat pots because papaya hate root disturbance, so choosing a biodegradable option will let you transplant into a bigger pot without touching the roots.

Good luck, and please let us know how you get on.
